In the summer of 2019, Sila Sveta premiered a breathtaking immersive show for Trans Studio Theme Park Cibubur in Indonesia. The dazzling 25-minute-long experience combined awe-inspiring acrobatics, stunts, and choreography with imaginative visual storytelling and VFX.

Extraordinary in its complexity and scale, it became a landmark project for Sila Sveta. Almost the whole studio team took part in the development of the project and more than 15 artists perform on stage. The show is planned to be displayed at the park permanently during the next 5 years.
We created a complex setup with hidden trampolines, hatches, trapezes and winches. Projection scrims, fog machines, and lighting design are also used in some parts of the show. During the chase scenes, the performers run on the disguised treadmill that is installed on the stage.
‘The creative process started with the construction of a stage that allows the artists to perform their stunts, make an entrance on stage and disappear unexpectedly. The visuals are designed to enhance the immersive illusion. For example, when the acrobats jump on the trampolines, the background behind them changes, and it creates the illusion of them flying’, says Sila Sveta’s creative director Ilya Balakin.
For the first time, we created the show that involved more than 10 performers. We hand-crafted the costumes for all of them and used LED-elements to make the artists visible on the bright background but also follow the style of the show. The costumes were designed to keep the artists visible on stage next to the bright, 20-meter-high screens and decorations.
The style of the clothes matches the animation and helps to integrate performers into the show, and the LED elements on their clothes highlight their movements. The complex costumes and heavy makeup aren’t easy to wear in the Indonesian weather. Thanks to the patience and commitment of the team, we managed to adapt them and achieve the optimal result.
In some episodes, the real performers get replaced by realistic CG characters. The 3D character animation was a crucial part of the work. The goal was to make the characters swap from real person to CG double as unnoticeable as possible, that's why the character animation was a crucial part of work.
In order to accomplish that, we used the Motion Capture technology: performers acted in the special pavilion, witness cameras tracked their movements and then we applied it to the 3D characters.
Sila Sveta produced all parts of the show from scratch, starting from script-writing and stage-building, to choreography, music and lighting design. Every part of the production works together, creating a dynamic and captivating show. You can watch it a thousand times and every time you are going to notice new details. It turns the show into a rollercoaster that manages to surprise you time after time and never gets boring.
